How we maDE a UV Cure Box for resin 3d prints

  • When we saw the price of the UV Cure boxes for Resin-type 3D prints, we decided to make our own. Total cost: $70 Here's the details:
  • A UV Nail Dryer All items were ordered from Amazon. We got two "UV Nail Dryer" $18 each. There's a few different types, we chose this type because the bottom is removable and the bulbs are replaceable.
  • Removing the bottom fro the UV Nail Dryer Remove the bottom panel from the UV Nail Dryer
  • UV LED Bulbs We got 4 of these UV LED bulbs. We are using them in one half of the box, while the other half will have the UV bulbs that the Nail Dryer came with. The LED bulbs were $7.80 each. We probably could have just used the bulbs that came with the Nail Dryer, but we thought some dual-wavelength LED bulbs would help the curing process
  • The two UV Nail dryers with bottom panels removed The two UV Nail dryers with bottom panels removed, in prep for replacing half the bulbs
  • LED bulbs installed The LED bulbs installed with the provided fluorescent bulbs
  • The Two nail dryers together The two nail dryer boxes together showing the opening
  • The two halves screwed together The two Nail Dryer boxes screwed together with short screws and metal plates. Be careful not to hit the wiring inside the Nail Dryer when screwing the halves together. Alternately, tape could be used.
  • The Solar powered Turntable The Solar powered Turntable, it will fit inside the cure box, and rotate using the UV light as power. $8 from Amazon
  • The Turntable fits nicely inside the box opening The Turntable fits nicely inside the box opening.
